Track a return
Add the materials, supplier, job, quantity, and estimated value. Use Record supplier return when a supplier accepts materials. Use Confirm money or credit to record the actual refund, issued store credit, or an accepted shortfall. A recorded expected refund does not mean money has arrived.
Pro and restoring purchases
The free plan includes three open returns. The one-time Pro purchase removes that limit. Open More → Explore Pro to see Apple's current price. Use Restore purchases with the same Apple Account used for the purchase. Completed history, backups, and exports remain available without Pro.
Protect your records
Use More to export a complete JSON backup, including receipt attachments. Keep that file somewhere you control before changing devices or deleting the app. CSV and PDF reports are useful summaries; use the complete JSON backup for restoration. Restoring a backup replaces the working ledger after confirmation.
Reminders and supplier rules
Reminders are optional local notifications and depend on your device settings. ReturnCrate does not contact suppliers or determine return eligibility. Confirm dates, fees, and acceptance directly with each supplier.
Privacy policy
Effective September 26, 2026. This policy describes ReturnCrate 1.0, provided by Eric Humer.
Records stay on your device
ReturnCrate stores return records, supplier and job names, notes, receipt attachments, and credit history locally in the app. It does not create an app account or send your ledger to an app-operated server. This release includes no advertising or third-party tracking or analytics SDK.
Attachments and reminders
When you select a receipt photo or PDF, the app copies it into the ledger. Photos are resized and re-encoded. The app does not browse photos you have not selected. PDFs may retain metadata already in the imported file.
If you enable reminders, the app schedules local notifications. Notification text does not include job names, supplier names, or amounts. Delivery depends on your device settings.
Purchases
Apple handles Pro purchases and restoration under Apple's policies. ReturnCrate uses verified StoreKit transactions to determine your Pro entitlement and does not receive payment card details.
Exports and backups
Exports leave the app when you choose where to save or share them. Complete JSON backups include attachments and may contain personal information. ReturnCrate does not encrypt these exported files. Your chosen storage, messaging, or backup provider processes them under its own policies. App data may also be included in device or computer backups according to your settings. There is no automatic cross-device synchronization.
Deleting information
You can delete a return, including its local attachments and history, inside the app. Deleting the app removes its local working data. Manage exported copies and device backups separately.
Support and this website
If you email support, we receive the information you choose to send and use it to respond to your request. Please send only what is needed to explain the issue. Email and website hosting providers may process correspondence and technical connection information under their own policies. This website does not receive your in-app ledger.
